| Posted: 05 Oct 2010 04:00 PM PDT As you might remember a while ago few privileged Dodge dealers were able to catch a glimpse of the next generation Viper. While Dodge did their best to keep the car a secret, people are already talking about what future will bring. And next to this rumors we also have a image of the future Viper logo. The 2012 Viper is known as the "Generation V Viper." According to people whom were invited to the event, the new model will feature a new front end, much more sophisticated then before, LED lights, 2 vents, one on each side that was located right behind the door and the rear panel looked almost like an Astin Martin . "This car is definitely beautiful, but maybe a little too kind. Looking at the new Gen 5 logo, it doesn't match the look yet. I know some of us wanted a meaner more aggressive look, and I think they are close." The next Dodge Viper logo originally appeared on topspeed.com on Tuesday, 5 October 2010 16:00 EST. |
| Lincoln Continental might come back Posted: 05 Oct 2010 03:00 PM PDT The Lincoln Continental has one of the longest history in the automotive industry. It was produced between 1939 and 2002. Now Ford announced plans to revive the Continental nameplate in an effort to bring new competitors for Lexus and Mercedes models. Ford spokesman Christian Bokich said dealers at Monday’s meeting that the company is already preparing concept-stage images of some of the upcoming vehicles. However he did not discussed details such as the size or the names of the vehicles under development. Steve Kain, general manager of a Ford and Lincoln dealer in London, Ky., who was briefed on Monday’s meeting, said he supported the idea of bringing back a Continental-inspired sedan. "It’s about revitalizing the whole Lincoln franchise," said Kain. "It’s no different when Ford did away with the Ford Taurus for a year and a half. They refreshed the vehicles, and it’s been a great seller since then." Expect the new Continental to debut in the next five years. | Baby Maserati Quattroporte coming in the fall of 2011 Posted: 05 Oct 2010 01:00 PM PDT You knew already that Maserati prepares a new model placed below the Quattroporte. But while previous rumors suggested this new model won’t arrive until 2014, Inside Line now reports that the official debut will actually be made in the fall of 2011. The new "baby Quattroporte" will take on models like BMW M5, Jaguar XFR and Mercedes E-Class AMG. The car will be designed in-house by Fiat Centro Stile under the leadership of Fiat chief Lorenzo Ramaciotti. There was already reported that the new model will be offered in two different versions. The first will be an entry level model priced at around $68,000 and powered by a V8 engine. The second version will be a more powerful one that will be about 20% more expensive. While Maserati has offered no details on the platform that will be used for the new model, it is believed it will combine elements from both the next-generation Quattroporte, as well as the replacements for the current GranTurismo and GranCabrio. | Ferrari 458 Italia GT Concept by JMV Posted: 05 Oct 2010 12:00 PM PDT Ever since Ferrari has unveiled the new 458 Italia people were dreaming all kind of versions for it! A while ago there was a GTS version. And now John Mark Vicente aka JMVDesign imagined a GT version for the Italian sports car. When designing its new version he wanted a much more aggressive aerodynamics kit without compromising the initial design. And even if his final works seems a little bit inspired by the Lamborghini models, it still looks pretty cool. The 3D rendering below features a new redesigned front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper with a much more aggressive diffuser and a rear wing to finish it off. Of course there aren’t many chances to see a car like this put into production, but we really appreciate the guy’s work. Reminder: The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5 Liter V8 engine that produces 570 HP. The sprint from 0 to 60 MPH is made in just 3.4 seconds and top speed is 202 MPH. | Posted: 05 Oct 2010 11:03 AM PDT Dodge has unveiled details on the new 2011 Charger that will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2010. The car’s exterior is inspired by the iconic second-generation Charger from the late 1960s. The 2011 Charger gets a lower hood line, faster windshield and radically raked back headlights. The interior gets a new thick-rimmed three-spoke Dodge steering wheel, premium soft-touch materials and four available distinct interior color combination. The aluminum hood features dual "scallops" that bring a sculptured, performance look to the front end, while large body-side scallops deliver a striking undulating A-line across the doors. The new Charger also gets an all-new signature taillamp design that incorporates 164 illuminating LEDs to form its signature "racetrack" graphic. The 2011 Charger will be offered in three trim levels: SE and Rallye featuring a new 3.6-liter Pentastar engine and R/T powered by the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI™ V-8 engine with four-cylinder mode FuelSaver Technology. | Posted: 05 Oct 2010 11:00 AM PDT The current Lexus IS line-up includes a sedan and a convertible model. But the future will look a little bit different. Lexus will unveil s new generation IS in 2012, but next to the usual models, the Japanese company will also offer a coupe version. This will compete with models like Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe and the BMW 3-Series Coupe. The coupe version will arrive a year after the new generation will make its official debut. An F version will be also offered. So, if we’ll get a coupe version, most likely the F version will feature the same 5.0 liter V8 engine as the IS-F sedan. This means a total of 402 HP at 7000rpm and 500Nm of torque at 5200rpm. That sounds more like a sports car, right? Top speed will most likely go up to 170 mph. However, until we’ll get a new IS, Lexus will bring a new redesign version for the GS sometime next year.
